Impacts	Pathways
Forms dense stands that exclude native flora. Can clog waterways with ecological, recreational and economic consequences. Drinking water can also become tainted by this species adding additional costs to treatment.	Popular aquarium plant and as such may arrive by trade and/or inappropriate disposal of the plant. Spreads primarily by stem fragments making control difficult.
Management
Prevention Should not be released in the wild. Dispose of garden and pond waste responsibily. Check vehicles, boats, equipment and clothing for plant fragments when leaving infested sites and clean if necessary. Physical Control Do not attempt to removal as this plant spreads through pant fragments. Chemical Control None attempted Biological Control None
